The Swallow Rune (つばめの紋章, Tsubame no Monshō) is a rune which appears in Suikoden II and Suikoden V

Information

Name

This rune as seen in Suikoden II and V, and the rune of the same name that Kyril carries in Suikoden Tactics have virtually identical names in Japanese. Kyril's rune is normally spelled with a kanji, rather than hiragana. Also, the hiragana version of Kyril's rune very slightly differs to the rune on this page.

However, the meaning of the words are identical, both referring to the swallow bird, and both hiragana readings are equally valid. As such, it is difficult to say whether the two runes are one and the same or not. Because the rune in Suikoden II and Suikoden V share exact spelling and the rune in Suikoden Tactics uses a variant, despite being released between the two games, Gensopedia considers the two runes as separate.
